Neil Heppenstall - New wheels for old!

Neil left the scheme in March 2005 and works on his own from a unit in Dewsbury. His business is primarily refurbishing alloy wheels, but he also works on customising cars and scooters to order. His primary advert is his customised Morris Minor van which has a hot engine, wire wheels and sparkling silver body work. He is always on the look out for the colours that are going to be the future fashion so that he can be the market leader. The quality of his work is such that the refurbishment will look better and last longer than the original work.

Most of his work comes from people seeing the van or from word of mouth referrals, he does work for local used car dealers and three of his custom projects are to be featured in magazines in the coming months. He tries to attend custom car shows whenever possible so that his van is on display.

The scheme gave Neil the security to give things a go initially and he says without the scheme he doubts if he would have been able to start. He had gained the skills in previous employment but felt that there was a gap in the market for providing a personal service offering a wide variety of finishes. Neil hopes to grow the business and will base it on providing his customers with innovative and quality solutions to their needs.
