The Into Business Scheme was started in July 1996 and since then has helped some 500 people into self employment. Over 80% of clients starting Stage 3 (test trading) successfully entered self employment or gained a job. More than 75% of these were still in busines after 2 years.

Any occupation can be followed as long as it is legal and will not bring IBS or the Jobcentre into disrepute. You can easily check if your idea can be followed at an initial meeting.

You don't need to have formal qualifications you just need to be occupationally competent i.e. can actually do the job! You also need to have lots of motivation to succeed.
